June 6 turned out to be anything but an ordinary workday for Beyond the Gates star Mike Manning. Dubbing it, “Take Your Parents to Work Day,” the actor—best known for his role as Smitty on the CBS daytime drama—brought his mom and dad to the Atlanta set. And let’s just say… things got interesting.
Manning gave fans a glimpse into the visit on Instagram, first posting a story of his parents posing proudly beside his reserved parking spot on the studio lot. Later, he returned to the platform with an update that suggested the day took an unexpected turn…jokingly, of course!
What Happened When Mike Manning Brought His Parents To Work?
“Bring Your Parents to Work Day isn’t going as planned,” he wrote in the caption of a video clip. In the video, he jokes, “So I guess this is what happens when you bring your parents to work at the studio… they’ve been walking around trying to get jobs.” The camera then pans to his mom practicing balance with a bottle of water on her head, while his dad—naturally—breaks out a few spontaneous karate moves. “Cool!” Manning concluded.
We can only assume the duo got a full behind-the-scenes tour, explored the lavish Fairmont Crest sets, and watched their son in action. Not a bad way to spend the day, right?
