Myles Clohessy is an Irish-American actor based out of New York City. He is an aspiring soap star who holds the dream of one day landing a role on General Hospital. He is the son of actor, Robert Clohessy who is well known for numerous Broadway stage performances. Myles grew up excelling in sports and ended up playing Division 1 college soccer at Central Connecticut State University before pursuing his acting degree at Purchase Conservatory of Acting in NY. Not long after graduating he was signed to Wilhelmina Models, a powerhouse modeling agency. He has recently landed a number of interesting acting gigs and Soap Opera News caught up with the talented star to discuss his new gigs, acting, his dreams of becoming a soap star, the soap role he almost got and more.

Congrats on your new gig “New Dogs, Old Tricks” – what can fans expect from you and your character in this new series?

Myles: I think fans can expect a lot of villainy from my role on New Dogs Old Tricks haha Seem to be the type of roles I get nowadays, which I love because there’s always a complexity that comes with playing your so-called “bad guys”.

Can you tell us a little bit more about you, where you’re from, your biography?

Myles: I was born in Los Angeles actually, my dad was starring on some hit tv shows then and it was fun time living there but we eventually moved to NYC and I’ve been in and around this area for most of my life. Pretty much my whole family was or is in the entertainment business so it’s fun.

You have been actively trying to get in the soap world. You’ve done a number of auditions for a couple soaps but nothing yet – can you share more about the audition experience?

Myles: I got very close to taking on a recurring role on general hospital, they went in another direction.. not sure which direction but I think with an older actor which made sense for the character.

If you had the chance to pick, which one of the remaining daytime sudsers would you choose and what role could you see yourself playing?

Myles: I would actually love to be on General Hospital but as to which character I can’t say.. but I’d love to play another villain or bad boy! Haha, I don’t play well with the pretty boy, the good guy next door roles.. they’re not for me.

You’ve done a number of primetime roles, do you have any in the pipeline that fans can look forward to?

Myles: 2018 has been a crazy good year for me. So far for acting and a lot of stuff will be premiering later this year but they can tune in asap this June to my role on the hit ABC show “Quantico” where I’ll be playing another very bad guy. it’s going to be a great episode.

What keeps you busy outside of acting?

Myles: Outside of acting I love to get out of the city, spend time with my loved ones and my dog in the country, and then if I can fit in traveling whenever possible I do. I think money is always best spent and never wasted, traveling the world.

So fans what are your thoughts on Myles becoming a soap star? Which soap would you like to see him on? Would he be a great Morgan recast on GH or Thomas recast on B&B?
