Netflix has announced the full cast of their series, Away. “Away centers on Emma Green, an American astronaut who must leave her husband and teenage daughter behind to command an international space crew embarking upon a treacherous mission. It is a series about hope, humanity and how we need one another if we are to achieve impossible things.”
Away is loosely based on the Chris Jones article from Esquire, which documented renowned astronaut Scott Kelly’s mission to space.
As previously announced Hilary Swank has been cast as Emma Green and Josh Charles as Matt Logan. Joining them are Talitha Bateman as Alexis Logan, Ato Essandoh as Kwesi, Mark Ivanir is Misha, Ray Panthaki as Ram and Vivian Wu as Lu.
Jessica Goldberg serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Andrew Hinderaker, the creator of the series, wrote the first episode and serves as an executive producer. Jason Katims serves as writer and executive producer. And the Executive Producers are Hilary Swank, Matt Reeves, Adam Kassan, Michelle Lee and Jeni Mulein.
The series is initially slated for 10 episodes.
