While fans await Beyond the Gates‘ return on September 8, a new promo aired on CBS, offering a glimpse of the tantalizing drama to come. In the meantime, in place of new episodes, a set of encore episodes are airing this week. Read on for Soap Opera News’ breakdown of what’s coming up.
What’s Next for Chelsea on Beyond the Gates?
As the voiceover says in the latest promo: “She survived her nightmare… but can she survive what’s coming next?”
From the looks of it, things are about to get even more intense on Beyond the Gates. The promo teases a heated confrontation between Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) and Allison (Brianna Roberts), and a knife is involved. Clearly, Chelsea is desperate to escape Allison’s clutches… and who could blame her? Allison is definitely unhinged.
While Chelsea is missing, her family is left in anguish, desperately waiting for answers and praying she returns home safely. Kat (Colby Muhammad) and Jacob (Jibre Hordges) follow up on a new lead, but will they be the ones to find and rescue Chelsea?
In one powerful moment from the promo, Chelsea, clearly still traumatized, is seen reuniting with her grandmother. An emotional Anita (Tamara Tunie) pulls her into a tight embrace as her voice echoes: “Oh, thank God, our prayers were answered.”
But make no mistake, this ordeal is far from over.
Unhinged Allison
We see Allison arrested at the station, with Jacob and Madison (Kenjah McNeil) both present. “Baby, are you alright?” Madison asks, as Chelsea stands visibly shaken. Meanwhile, Allison’s wide, bulging eyes lock onto Chelsea in a chilling stare. The trauma lingers. Will Chelsea ever truly be alright after everything she’s endured?
And as the promo comes to a close, we hear a haunting final line from Vernon (Clifton Davis), who’s standing beside Kat: “Dear God… what have we done?”
