Nicholas Alexander Chavez is making waves in Hollywood after starring in two back-to-back Ryan Murphy projects, but his big start in acting began with his role as Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital, a role he played for approximately three years and earned his first Daytime Emmy Award.
When General Hospital “killed off” Spencer Cassadine in January 2024, it was expected that Nicholas Alexander Chavez would seamlessly return to the role after finishing his work on Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. While that doesn’t seem to be happening, he remains open to the possibility of coming back to the soap that elevated his career. When TV Line questions him about closing the door on the ABC soap opera, he said, “No. Port Charles is a crazy place. We’ll have to see what happens.” If the need arises for the show to recast the role of Spencer, Chavez is perfectly fine with it, given that he himself came in as a recast. “Of course. I understand that the show has needs and I would be fully supportive of that.”
Chavez is also currently, starring in Grotesquerie on FX as Father Charlie; be sure to check that out. (Photo: ABC)
