Fans tuning into CBS for their favorite daytime soap operas got quite the disappointment when they learned that their shows were preempted today, May 8th. The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless were preempted while Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost of the United States was elected the 267th pope. This is the first time an American has led the Roman Catholic Church.

The Bold and the Beautiful episode scheduled for today would have featured Luna (Lisa Yamada) vowing against all odds to have a relationship with Finn (Tanner Novlan) while Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) unveils the details of Liam’s (Scott Clifton) diagnosis with Hope (Annika Noelle).
Preempted — When Will Today’s Episode of B&B Air?
The episode now moves to May 9. In response to the disruption, Casey Kasprzyk, the show’s Supervising Producer, confirmed on X that The Bold and the Beautiful will be fully preempted today. He noted, “All shows will shift a day.” In its stead, Episode #8820, which focuses on Steffy and Finn’s reunion in Monaco, will air in other time zones.
