OUR PICK: Top 20 Breakout Daytime Stars of 2019!

It was a very tough task to make the selections this year. Nevertheless, Soap Opera News sat down to compile the list of top breakout stars for 2019. We took into consideration for a breakout character the following: a breakout character is a character in serial fiction, usually stories involving an ensemble cast, who becomes more prominent, popular, discussed, and/or imitated than was originally intended or expected. We also took into consideration fan suggestions – check out the top 20 from the four remaining daytime sudsers below!

1. William Lipton – Cameron Webber, GH

Talk about an all-rounder performer. William Lipton joined GH in 2018 taking over the role of Cameron from Cade McWatt who briefly played the SORAS’d version. In his very first year, Lipton earned himself a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in the category of Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series.  He brought us to tears numerous times with his incredible work. And, had us singing with him as he performed a couple songs on the show. In 2019, he was given some amazing material to work with and as we expected he showcased his acting chops like a true actor. We’re quite positive that 2020 will be another year for him to earn a chance to win a Daytime Emmy after such amazing work throughout this year.
