Days of Our Lives actor, Paul Telfer (Xander Kiriakis) and his wife, Carmen Cusack are set to build a home for a veteran family. A recent Instagram post from the actor was captioned, “…on October 5th, we’re looking forward to wearing hard hats for a fantastic cause – @Homes4Familes. We’ll be spending the day building a home for a deserving veteran family. If you would like to support our efforts, donations are needed to cover the cost of the building materials, and we’d be honored to have your support.”
Fans can assist by donating to the cause by visiting the page at First Giving. Telfer and Cusack’s project is under Home 4 Familiies whose mission is to build resiliency, economic growth, neighborhoods, and homes for veteran families. In order to recognize the enormous sacrifice made by our veterans, and meet their growing needs, Home 4 Families empower low-income veterans and their families to enter the middle class through affordable, full-equity homeownership and sustainable housing combined with holistic services that build resiliency, self-sufficiency and economic growth. They developed their innovative and outcome-proven Enriched Neighborhood model, in which service members, veterans, and their families gain access to comprehensive wraparound services in addition to permanent housing.
Carmen Cusack is a Tony and Grammy-nominated performer, known for Broadway’s Bright Star (created by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell) among many other theatrical productions, and will soon be seen alongside Tom Hanks in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019), and in CBS Studios/Facebook’s acclaimed series Sorry for Your Loss (2nd season premiering Oct 1, 2019).
