All hail the queen! Daphnee Duplaix came to slay—and slay she did this week on Beyond the Gates, where she plays Nicole Richardson. Duplaix has rightfully been named Soap Opera News’ Performer of the Week for her gut-wrenching performance.
What Happened on Beyond the Gates
This week, Nicole had to deal with the fallout from her husband “Teddy Weddy’s” long-buried secret. Not only did he have an affair with Leslie, but he also fathered a child with her—one he wanted her to abort. The explosive truth came out at their anniversary bash, when a vengeful Leslie showed up dressed to the nines, ready to burn everything down,
Nobody could stop her, not even her daughter, Eva. The truth was too much for Nicole to bear. She stormed out, went home, took a shower, and tried to process the betrayal—but the deeper the truth sank in, the more devastating it became. Meanwhile, Ted was hunting her down, begging for forgiveness—something Nicole simply couldn’t offer.
Daphnee’s Performance
Then came the gut-wrenching moment: Nicole looked Ted in the eyes and said, “My body was betraying me, oh my God, and so were you.” The way Daphnee delivered that line? Pure fire. It ripped us apart.
