Performer of the Week: Days’ Remington Hoffman

Performer of the Week

Remington Hoffman, played by Li Shin, had quite the week on Days of Our Lives! From showing up at Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) office in desperate need of help to get over his obsession with ex-wife Gabi (Camila Banus) to opening up and having a monumental breakthrough about the role his father (Clyde Kusatsu) played in that obsession to being tricked and then blackmailed by Gabi, Rolf (Richard Wharton), and Stefan (Brandon Barash), to touching scenes with his sister Wendy (Victoria Grace), and then finally, ending up dead on his living room floor from a literal knife in the back, the man went through it this week!

While Li was having a pretty bad week, his portrayer, Remington Hoffman, had a spectacular one. Hoffman spun every moment of Li’s torment into absolute acting gold and kept us riveted to the screen and wanting more. His scenes with Wendy were particularly good, really highlighting how far over the edge Li had been pushed by his father and Gabi. Remington’s exit from the show has been announced and we saw Li apparently dead on Friday, but boy are we hoping for a soapy twist that brings him back soon!

There is so much more story to tell about Li between the issues with his father, his mysterious first love, and, of course, his chemistry-laden romance with Melinda (Tina Huang). He is a great character with so many layers, both good and bad and he is portrayed by an amazing actor so hopefully, Li’s not really dead, just Days dead, which we all know means not dead at all. Li has done some really bad things, but still, we root for him to have some happiness. It takes a special kind of actor to pull that off, and Remington Hoffman does it beautifully, which is why we are naming him our Performer of the Week! Congratulations Remington!

Honorary Mentions

This week, we would like to highlight the exceptional performances of Trevor St. John as Tucker McCall and Eileen Davidson as Ashley on The Young and the Restless. Both stars shone in their scenes this week. Additionally, Thorsten Kaye’s portrayal of Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful was commendable, especially when his character discovered the truth about Eric’s illness. Congrats on getting the honorary mentions! (Photos: JPI)
