What’s happening family!!!

Last week we had; a shocking death, an announcement of a temporary departure, a verdict, a wedding, a chapel kiss, a flat line and the fallout after lies, lies and more lies and much more.

Recaps and winners!

The Bold and the Beautiful

Steffy told Lope she was going to Europe for an extended amount of time. It was a business and a pleasure trip. It would be business for her regarding Forrester and pleasure for Lope. She told Hope she hoped during her time away she would use that time to heal from losing Beth and to focus on her life and her marriage with Liam. Taylor was still in a tizzy that Steffy wasn’t listening to Hope and taking her husband as Hope directed. Taylor asked Steffy why you tripping? I know you still love him. Steffy remained firm she wasn’t taking anyone’s husband. Flo reached her breaking point (this is becoming a habit) and was ready to tell Hope everything. She swayed Zoe that it was time. The truth was going to come out sooner or later, one way or another. Therefore, it was in their best interest to fess up before it was discovered and maybe they wouldn’t end up in jail. Flo and Zoe were ready to tell that night. But here comes Reese busting in (well I guess it’s still is his place) and smelled confession in the air. Reese sure can get from London to L.A really quick. He’s racking up those frequent flyer miles. Reese pleaded his case over and over and over again until Zoe was back in his corner. Flo was livid and started throwing things. Will she tell? We think not now since Jacqueline Woods is out on maternity leave and Steffy and Phoebe are in Europe. LOL.

Bill met with Wyatt and Sally and it appeared Spencer Fashions is still a go. Donna and Justin played match maker and set Bill and Katie up for lunch with each other. At the end of Thursday’s episode, Bill and Taylor both received the devastating news that Caroline Spencer had died suddenly of a blot clot.  Everyone, including us. was in shock and devastated. There was no need to kill Caroline. Moving on. Bill, Steffy, Eric, Quinn, Wyatt, Sally, Liam, Hope, Taylor and Ridge all mourned the tragedy. Thomas (now played by Matthew Atkinson) and adorable Douglas came home and was greeted by a loving and supporting family what was as Thomas said; exactly what they needed. Ridge spoke for all of us “I loved this woman. I loved everything about her.” Us too! #RIPCarolineSpencer.

The Young and the Restless

Tessa was arrested and jailed for extortion. Mariah paid her bail. Kerry continued to play both sides against the middle. She had both Phyllis and Jack draw up contracts for the rights of her cologne Jack of Hearts. She sent a text to her co-conspirator that the “Jabot War has begun.” Devon told Abby she needed to find a replacement for Lola stat or he was moving on from their project. Abby tried to pitch for them to wait for Lola to recuperate. Devon told Abby not on my dime and you need to be straight with your man that his sister is out. Then he got on Ana’s case because he ran a credit check to identify Ana’s creditors to pay them, surprise surprise there were none. He wanted Ana to tell him why she had lied and why was she running through so much money. Yeah, Ana we want to know too. Arturo and Rey were told there was a donor for Lola but the donor wanted to remain anonymous. Jack, Nick, Victor, Rey, Arturo, Abby, Mariah, etc all found out Skyle were engaged with an imminent wedding planned. Rey’s detective senses sensed there was more going on than Skyle was saying. Kyle told Mariah about his arrangement with Summer. Lola woke up. Poor thing real soon she will wish she had stayed unconscious.

Guilty! Guilty! Guilty! Despite all of the words spoken on Nikki, Victoria and Sharon’s behalf the judge brought down harsh and severe sentences; Nikki 30 years, Victoria 10 years and Sharon 3 years. The defendants, defense attorneys well let’s just say everybody but Christine was sick sick sick. Thursday’s episode was good. It felt like Y&R. The jailhouse scenes with Sharon/Mariah, Victor/Victoria, Nick/Nikki, etc. so good. Amelia was spectacular in Victoria’s scenes with Phyllis. Victoria told Phyllis jail won’t stop what I have coming for you. Victor would have been so proud.

Even with her grandmother and aunt on the way to the big big house, Summer told everyone this is the perfect time for happiness, my happiness and my wedding. I’m getting married tomorrow. Skyle got married. Everyone was all gussied up, especially the bride and groom who were breathtaking. Undeterred by the “arranged marriage” Kyle and Summer looked like any normal happy couple on their wedding day. Lola called Kyle and left him a message asking him why he hadn’t come back to the hospital. Chile Lola, Kyle was kinda busy consummating his marriage, performing those husbandly duties he said he wasn’t going to partake in.

Days of Our Lives

Claire has no chill and didn’t blink an eye when she ousted Haley and Haley was arrested by Elani at the loft. Jack was present and Eve got it all on tape for a video op. Claire threw Ciara, the neighbor and anybody else she could have thought of under the bus to keep suspicion off of her. Ciara told Tripp not to trust Claire. Are we sure Tripp’s parents are Ava and Steve because this dude…News only got worse for Haley. In addition to deportation, she was facing possible attempted murder/murder charges for the penicillin laced cookies that were left for Dr. Marlena Evans with a note signed in her name. As mad as Haley was at JJ, she accepted Justin’s offer (via JJ) to be her attorney. Smart girl. Can you go give some of that smartness to Tripp, please? John and Leo struck a deal. John would give Leo the envelope he had from Diana’s safe which had the dirt on Leo and Leo would recant his statement against Wilson. When Leo hesitated John dropped the “d” word, daddy. The DNA test results stated that John was Leo’s father. Wilson and Brady were horrified.

Eric and Brady were back at a full-scale war over Nicole, Holly and Chloe staying with Stefan and whose fault it was, basically their usual. Brady told Rex watch your bro because he gets off on taking his brother’s women. Imagine Brady’s non-shock when he walked in on Eric and Sarah kissing, in the chapel no less. Come on Eric! What would Jesus Do? Brady promised to keep quiet for now because of Marlena. Marlena had eaten a penicillin laced cookie and went into shock. John tearfully held vigil at her bedside. Dayplayer nurse is pretty smart too. It didn’t take her long to figure out it was Diana who had laced the cookies. Diana had already set it up for it to look like dayplayer had set up Haley. Diana told dayplayer, it’s all good. I already have the ideal pansy; Kristen DiMera. Just tell them it was Kristen who made you do it. Dayplayer did just that. John bought it. Why wouldn’t he? But there was someone with another theory. Leo, after he lept in John’s arms, after he learned John was his father (that was so precious)  told his nudaddy that his momma was dark and damaged enough to poison Marlena. John didn’t believe the Diana he knew could do something like that. Leo told him that’s my point she’s not the same person. Richard changed both of us. We want to give a shout out to Greg Rikaart. He was most definitely a contender. this week. Leo’s scenes with Diana on why she didn’t tell him John was his father and why she let him believe he had killed his father, with John at Diana’s hotel room and the hospital (regarding Leo’s paternity) and Stabi were good good good soap.

Did someone call the fire department? Stabi! Hot! Hot! Hot! Enuff said. Ciara asked grandma Julie why everyone could give Abby a second chance at rehabilitation and not Ben. Ben lamented over his emotional quandary about Ciara with Stefan. Stefan encouraged him that he didn’t have to be like Clyde. He could break the cycle. He could have and deserved love. But Ben had to want it. Our cliffhanger was a flat-lined Marlena, which will transition us into Days‘ Marlena centric episode. We can’t wait!

General Hospital

Franco stood behind his decision to lie to Liz about being the serial killer. Liz told Franco you said you would never lie to me again. And if it was just me, I might be able to accept it. But I have kids. Did you think about all that they would go through? Franco stood his ground believing he did what he thought was best and Liz stood hers. Liz and Jordan had testy exchanges.  Jordan basically told Liz hey if you don’t want your man hooked up in serial killer drama then don’t be with one. Alexis bent Finn’s and her shrink’s ear about her inability to shake Julian. Nice scenes with Drew and Oscar about the birds and the bees. And we especially loved the scenes with Carly (Jason rescued Carly) and Joss when Joss learned Carly was pregnant and Joss told Carly she was about to do what you do when you become pregnant, if Oscar hadn’t had a seizure.

Andre made a visit to Port Charles. He accessed Dr. Cabot’s notes and confirmed Anna’s suspicions that some of her memories are Alex’s. But there wasn’t any way for Andre to know which memories were transferred or to give her a time frame when they were transferred. Anna reached out to Valentin and asked him to get a message to Alex that Anna needed to see her. Molly and Kristina fought over DOD. Molly called it out for what it was, a cult. She told Michael that was what the money was for that he loaned Kristina. Kristina broke off her friendship with Valerie because Valerie didn’t support DOD and Kristina couldn’t have the negative energy around her. Willow has or had ties to DOD as we saw her tattoo. Dante! Dante! Dante! Sonny found Dante and got knocked out. And when he came to, the bad man gave Dante a gun and told him to shoot Sonny.

Ava found out Kevin was really Ryan. And Laura found out Kevin knew about Ryan before the Ferncliff switch-a-roo last September. Read more below.

Performers of the Week!

Performer of the Week is Maura West (Ava, General Hospital)

We were all waiting, been waiting on what would happen when Ava found out Kevin was really Ryan. We counted down the days. OMG. OMG. OMG. You find out you are sleeping with a serial killer. Let that sink in. Then you find out you are sleeping with the serial killer that killed your daughter. Then you realize you slept with him for the first time only an hour or two after he killed your daughter. Anger, pain, bewilderment, rage, shock, distress, fury, etc. What would that feel like? What would it look like? Simple M-A-U-R-A W-E-S-T/A-V-A J-E-R-O-M-E last week. Maura ripped out our souls. And if she didn’t; you don’t have one. “All this time of being treated like dirt and to finally have a man love me for me. “Oh No! No! Oh God! Kiki!!!” What would you do? Hit the flask like Ava is what I’d do. Maura’s drunk Ava with Franco as she still hoped that somehow everyone was wrong was spectacular. Up until Ava saw Kevin herself and his hospital band she still held on to a shred of hope that none of it was true. But when she had to accept it and could no longer hide from the fact that it was indeed Ryan who she fell in love with, and who loved her, slept with her and killed her daughter and all those other women; it was too much too bear. Ava broke down again that time in the hospital hallway. Thank goodness Scotty was there to catch her.

Honorable Mention Genie Francis (Laura, General Hospital)

Genie was Maura’s perfect complement and it was so smart for Laura to be the one to tell Ava about Ryan. Laura was gentle but firm. She pushed back with just the right amount of loving resistance when Ava’s mind and heart refused to want to accept the truth. She was right there to be everything Ava needed. Laura supported Ava and made a dash back to Port Charles to be there for her man who had regained his sight. How many nights had she lain awake trying to make sense of it all. But she wasn’t crazy. It wasn’t Kevin! Laura’s euphoria was short lived and she could have used someone to hold her up when Kevin told her he had known for months that Ryan was alive. And that it was he who had Ryan stashed away at Ferncliff under an alias. Another OMG moment. Laura broke down. She understood him wanting to help his brother. That was the kind of man he was. But how could he not tell her? People died, lives were forever changed. Did that make Kevin just as responsible as Ryan? Our hearts crumbled a bit when Laura told Kevin it was too soon to come home. The man had been held captive for months surely Kevin just wanted a shower in his own bathroom and to sleep in his own bed. Nope. Metro Court I guess was the next best thing. Genie Genie Genie Genie what does the hashtag say? #GenieisGH. It is an honor and a privilege, for real, to watch this living legend grace our screens and remind us every time we see her; that we are in the presence of royalty.

QUEENS!

THANK YOU Maura & Genie it’s actors like you and performances like last week that make us so fiercely protective of our soaps and actors! We love you!

Laura holding Ava up on that bridge as she fell under the weight of the revelation and realization of Laura’s reveal; is one of those iconic moments we will talk about forever; book it.
