It’s been a little over seven months since Peyton Meyer was introduced to Salemites (on Days of our Lives) as new character Doug Williams III, grandson of the late Doug Williams (Bill Hayes).
Doug III debuted on December 3, 2024, and his first scene was with Julie ( Susan Seaforth Hayes) at Doug’s gravesite. As Julie tearfully said good-bye to her beloved Doug, she met her husband’s grandson for the first time. Julie immediately welcomed Doug III into the Horton home and into the family fold.
Seven months isn’t that long a time, even in soap time, still Doug has hardly been idle. He stole Julie’s/the Horton’s heirloom necklace (not the best way to say thank you for Julie’s loving and warm hospitality, lol) to pay off a debt, got beat up, got thrown out of the Horton house, caused problems between Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and Tate (Leo Howard), tried to hook up with Holly, got a job at the Brady Pub and slept with Ari (Marissa Reyes.)
From next week’s spoilers, it looks like Meyer and Doug III’s time at Days’ is quickly coming to a close. And although, he didn’t spend that much time in Salem, USA, he packed a lot in those seven months for sure! So, we say time well spent.
We wish Meyer nothing but the best. And who knows, we know how life goes in soap opera land; we may see him (or Doug III) again!
