The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards took center stage on Friday, October 17, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in sunny Pasadena, California. Hosted by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), the star-studded event streamed live and is now available to watch on watch.theemmys.tv and through The Emmys® app.

On the red carpet, love was definitely in the air. Several real-life couples made the night even more special with some sweet appearances—and even a few red carpet debuts! Among them: Days of Our Lives alum Blake Berris alongside his new girlfriend, actress Busy Philipps, while The Young and the Restless Mark Grossman (aka Adam Newman) stepped out with girlfriend Katy Johnson. Highlights of the 2025 Daytime Emmys

A true highlight of the night? Days of Our Lives icon Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) took the stage to present the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to journalist Deborah Norville. Norville, who’s anchored Inside Edition for over 30 years, made history as the longest-serving national news anchor in American television. Under her leadership, the show became America’s #1 daily newsmagazine and one of the top five syndicated programs in the country.

Other standout moments from the ceremony included:

  • Sir David Attenborough, at 99 years old, becoming the oldest Daytime Emmy winner ever for Outstanding Daytime Personality – Non-Daily for Secret Lives of Orangutans.
  • Drew Barrymore scoring her first-ever Emmy win for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host.
  • Lisa Yamada taking home Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series, marking her as the only Asian-American acting winner from a network soap this year.
  • A heartfelt joint statement from NATAS Chair Terry O’Reilly and Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego.

Big Moments at the Daytime Emmys

“Tonight, we celebrated the remarkable achievements of daytime television’s finest,” said Adam Sharp, President & CEO of NATAS. “For more than 75 years, since daytime television first took root in 1949, these programs have shaped the fabric of our shared culture—entertaining and inspiring generations of viewers.”

The awards were handed out by a dynamic lineup of presenters, including stars from across daytime TV and beyond: Brad Bestelink (Living With Leopards), Kardea Brown (Delicious Miss Brown), Alexa Havins Bruening (General Hospital), Scott Clifton (The Bold and the Beautiful), Olivia d’Abo (The Bay), Dan Feuerriegel (Days of Our Lives), Rory Gibson (General Hospital), Carla Hall (Chasing Flavor with Carla Hall), Cherie Jimenez (Days of Our Lives), Judge Lauren Lake (We The People), and many more—including The Young and the Restless stars Michael Mealor and Michelle Stafford, and The Bold and the Beautiful’s Lisa Yamada.

This year’s ceremony also introduced several new categories, reflecting the evolving landscape of daytime programming:

  • Outstanding Culinary Cultural Series
  • Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series
  • Outstanding Regional Content in a Daytime Genre
