Rena Sofer (Lois Cerullo, General Hospital) is in her proud mama era, using hashtags like #girlsrule on Instagram as she shared the amazing news that her daughter, Avalon Bookstaver, is directing her first film while in college.
Sharing a picture of her daughter holding on to a clapperboard, she quipped, “Look at my big girl directing her first film in college!!! I am so proud of you @avaloni3 and can’t wait to see #Janestreet and all you do in the future!! Just one question…. Do I have to audition for you???”
About Jane’s Street
The film Jane’s Street is directed by Avalon, written by Adam Jaffe and produced by Zach Read and Shreya Saini.
According to the film’s Indiegogo page, the film tells the story of “a cold Friday night before Christmas where two mobster-like senator’s aides and two old friends cross paths by chance.
Sadie, the daughter of a working-class single father, and Jane, an out-of-touch, wealthy stoner, try to ignore the strain in their dwindling friendship. Jane convinces Sadie to use a Reddit credit card scam to buy Taco Bell, hoping to “steal from the man.”
When they see the senator’s aides across the street at the senator’s house, they mistake them for thieves, and Jane does everything in her power to stop them from “stealing from the man.” Reluctantly, Sadie eventually concedes.
After the Reddit scam goes wrong and the police arrest the innocent aides, Jane remains unaffected, while everyone else faces the consequences.”
Proud Father
Her proud father, Sanford Bookstaver, was practically bursting at the seams with excitement! He took to Instagram, declaring, “I’m the proudest father in the world!” He even threw in that they are in the same field, “We are fellow directors!!!!”
Sofer married television director and producer Sanford Bookstaver back in 2003, and two years later, they welcomed their daughter, Avalon. Fast forward to 2017, and they got divorced. But in 2019, they got back together and renewed their vows in 2024!
Sofer also has another daughter, Rosabel Rosalind Kurth, from her previous marriage to Wally Kurth (Ned, GH, and Justin, DAYS ).
