Veteran actor Robert Newman is stepping into the role of business tycoon “Ashland Locke” on CBS daytime drama THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. This is a return to the CBS family for Newman, who previously spent 28 years playing “Joshua Lewis” on GUIDING LIGHT, the longest-running program in broadcasting history. The Daytime Emmy-nominated actor will first be seen in Genoa City on Wednesday, Feb. 9.  A first look at his character is attached and above.


 

Newman has recently guest-starred on House of Cards, Chicago Fire, Homeland, Criminal Minds, NCIS, and Law and Order: SVU. Film credits include Amazing Spider-Man 2Dracano, and the short film Deadline, for which he earned the Best Actor award at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival in 2014. Off-Broadway Credits include Perfect Crime, She’s of a Certain AgeSessions: the Musical, and Quiet on the Set.


 

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS celebrates its 49th anniversary in March 2022 and has been TV’s #1 daytime drama for 32 years. It airs weekdays on CBS.
