On August 15, 2025, another soap legend, Tristan Rogers, passed away. The actor, best known for playing General Hospital‘s Robert Scorpio, died after a battle with lung cancer. The news was first reported by ABC 7 Eyewitness News, which said:

Rogers’ death was confirmed by his longtime manager, Meryl Soodak, who told ABC7 entertainment reporter George Pennacchio that the actor passed away Friday morning after a battle with lung cancer. Soodak noted that Rogers had never been a smoker.

Rogers’ decades-long career included roles on The Young and the Restless, as well as the award-winning web series The Bay and Studio City. He took home the trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his work on Studio City twice — in 2020 and 2021.

Rogers is survived by his wife, Teresa Parkerson, and their two children, Sara Jane and Cale.

In a statement via the show’s official social media accounts, Executive Producer Frank Valentini said:

“The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers’ passing. Tristan has captivated our fans for more than 50 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio). I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. Tristan was a one-of-a-kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace. “
