Whether you love to hate Esme Prince or just simply dislike her;
one thing all General Hospital fans can agree on is that Avery Kristen Pohl is an
extremely talented actress. This past
month, Pohl continued to show that she can hold her own with soap veterans such
as; Maurice Benard (Sonny), Laura Wright (Carly), Genie Francis (Laura), and
Jon Lindstrom (Ryan/Kevin). Fans couldn’t
stop buzzing about the intense and creepy scenes between Esme and Ryan when it
was revealed that Esme is Ryan’s daughter and that he recruited her to break up
Ava and Nikolas. Many fans are upset
with the Joss & Cam sex tape story and don’t think Esme can be redeemed after this. Wherever you fall in the debate, Pohl is
doing a phenomenal job. The snark with
Carly, appealing to Laura’s softer side, the crocodile tears with Sonny and
Nikolas, and the emotionally charged scenes with Ryan were all incredible. Pohl nails the smug expression every time
Esme is pleased with herself with how well her schemes and lies are going in
her favor. Her most recent victim is
Nikolas Cassadine and Esme is playing him like a fiddle. Even Esme is shocked by how well she’s deceiving
him as evidenced by Pohl’s rolling of her eyes while smirking after talking
with him. Pohl also had great scenes
with Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer) when Esme tells him she might be
pregnant with his child. Esme continues
to try to manipulate Spencer’s feelings and later on when Spencer asks her if
she’s more scared of being pregnant or not, Esme deflects and says she just wants
to be Spencer. Pohl quickly changes from a desperate plea to cunning when Esme reminds Spencer that his being with her will
put a wedge between Ava and Nikolas.
Bravo to Pohl for her captivating performances! Fans can’t wait to see what happens next!
