It is an extraordinary day for the esteemed daytime icon, Susan Seaforth Hayes. Best known to daytime fans as Julie Williams on Days of our Lives, she is celebrating her 81st birthday today.
She was born Susan Seabold on July 11, 1943, in Oakland, California to Elizabeth Harrower and Harry Seabold.
Susan Seaforth grew up in Hollywood and was involved in theater as a teen. Her mother, Elizabeth Harrower was an actress and screenwriter who worked on the writing teams of The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives. During World War II, her father, Harry Seabold, resided with his bride for ninety days while undergoing basic training near Oklahoma City. He left after his daughter was born and stayed abroad for thirty-three months, during which Harrower returned to her family’s home in Berkeley.
Susan Seaforth Hayes married her co-star Bill Hayes, who portrayed Doug Williams on Days of our Lives. Unfortunately, Hayes passed away at the age of 98 in January.
