Tabyana Ali (Trina Robinson, General Hospital) has wrapped production on a new film she’s starring in. Ali is set to play the lead role in a 12-minute short called “Never the One,” directed and written by Haley Powell. In the film, after the fall out of a messy love triangle, through one long poem, a freshman college student shames the boy who broke her heart in front of an entire audience at a poetry slam so he can feel her pain.
Speaking highly of the project, Ali penned on Instagram, “Always the best time working with Haley, especially on such a personal project and our biggest one yet. This shoot was definitely challenging, but flying Savion out and reuniting the groupchat made it go smooth.
She added, “This project required the most prep l’ve ever done. With eight different locations in three days, each with unique lighting environments, definitely made me nervous, but Thomas, Faith and the rest of the incredible G&E team made it happen. So grateful to be doing what I love with friends. I feel so lucky to be able to make art with such amazing people.”
