Buckle up—the drama in Genoa City is about to reach new heights! In a candid interview with TV insider, Young and the Restless Executive Producer and Head Writer Josh Griffith teases a turbulent 2025, filled with shocking twists, fiery confrontations, a few romances and
game-changing revelations.
Considering that Sharon was just kidnapped by Jordan and Mariah just received a horrific blast from the past in the latest episode of Y&R, we’ll start there. As if the who killed Heather Steven storyline wasn’t juicy enough with just Sharon and Phyllis at each other’s neck again, it’s just gotten bigger and will explode into the lives of Sharon’s daughter Mariah Copeland and her wife Tessa Porter.
Griffith reveals that this storyline will bring Nick and Sharon closer together and maybe bring on a new look on Phyllis and Sharon’s relationship as they are both thrown into life-threatening situations. We can also expect a nasty showdown involving Ian Ward, Jordan, and the entire Newman family.
Victor Vs. Jack
From there, the Y&R EP/Head Writer revealed that the show’s longest rivalry with Jack Abbott and Victor Newman is far from over. He also teased that it will bleed into Jabot and also affect Claire and Kyle’s new romantic relationship, which will also get hit with trouble from Kyle’s
ex-wife Summer Newman. Griffith also revealed that Victoria, Nick, and Nikki will be involved in Kyle and Claire’s “Romeo and Juliet.”
Another love triangle we can expect is Billy, Sally, and Phyllis. Griffith said he was “really intrigued” by Sally and Billy’s relationship and will slowly introduce Phyllis into the mix. We can also look forward to seeing more of Chelsea and Adam and a possible reconciliation?
The Young and the Restless Preview: A New Romance?
Speaking of romances, could Lily finally be getting a new man? We will have to wait to see, but Griffith tells us that Days alum Nathan Owens is stepping into a new role that will affect the entire Winter’s family and Audra.
Along with a few previews, Griffith also praised the success of 2024, revealing his most favorite storylines and praising the actress and actors who helped carry them out.
