This month, The Young and the Restless is set to air a special episode devoted to romance, per Swoon.
Love takes on many forms and is one of life’s choicest, most enduring, and beautiful blessings.
One could say love is like oxygen; it is necessary for us to breathe, to inhale and exhale it, and to give and receive it so we can enjoy and experience life to the fullest.
On the cusp of the peak of wedding season , The Young and The Restless is set to feature a couple-centric episode highlighting a few of daytime’s most legendary couples.
Victor and Nikki
Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Genoa City’s matriarch and patriarch, will celebrate “Nicktor’s love affair.” Their love has withstood death, lies, murder, sickness, corruption, alcoholism, others, and pretty much all a relationship can and remains strong and steadfast.
The couple will also share the hope that their offspring will one day follow in their footsteps… um… it’s a very nice sentiment, but given Victoria (Amelia Heinle), Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Adam’s (Mark Grossman) relationship history… but maybe Abby (Melissa Ordway) has a shot? Or Dylan (Steve Burton)?
Michael and Lauren
This powerhouse duo seems to have mastered the ability to steer mostly free and clear of the major drama that plagues their GC counterparts. But no relationship is perfect so they were due for a storm or two.
Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) is more than a little miffed at hubby, Michael (Christian LeBlanc), for voluntarily placing himself in the middle of the incessant Victor vs Jack (Peter Bergman) battle (nothing new there lol.) She let Michael have it, asking what he was thinking when he gave Jack a heads-up about Victor’s most recent plan to bury the Abbotts. We are with Lauren on this one. Michael, what are you doing?
The legal eagle will try and calm his marital troubled waters and prove to his lady love that nothing is more important to him than their marriage.
Jack and Diane
This version of the couple has had smoother sailing (so far) than the previous go-rounds, mainly because of the new and improved Diane (Susan Walters). Speaking of new and improved…the Abbott mansion, like the Newman ranch, was recently redone. The mansion got more of a facelift, whereas the ranch got a total retro reconstruction.
Dusting off her skills as an architect, Diane does a great job of giving the historic home a modernized touch-up while keeping its essence, familiarity, and nostalgia. Well done.
In turn, Jack has a special surprise in store for his wife as a way of saying thank you for a job well done.
The special episode devoted to romance will air on May 21. Be sure to watch The Young and the Restless weekdays on CBS! (Photo: JPI/CBS)
