The Bold and the Beautiful’s Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester) is celebrating his birthday today. Kaye was born Thorsten Ernst Kieselbach in Frankfurt, Germany on February 22, 1966, and turns 58 today.
Kaye moved to the US in 1985 on a track scholarship. Although he majored in physical education and minored in drama, he later had to switch directions in terms of his career due to an accident. Today he is a well-known actor best known for his roles as; Ian Thornhart on Port Charles, Zach Slater on All My Children and Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Kaye appeared in classical theater roles in London and with the Hilberry Repertory Company in Detroit. Later, he acted in television shows in Los Angeles and New York. He gained popularity for playing for his work on daytime soap operas. Kaye received two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for his work on One Life to Live. He also got two for his work on All My Children as Zach Slater. In 2011, he had a leading role in the psychological thriller film Occupant.
Kaye then appeared as Nick on the NBC series Smash. In 2013, he was cast as Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, replacing Ronn Moss and has been playing the role since. During his tenure on the show, Kaye was nominated three times in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a drama series, taking home the trophy in 2023.
