Tika Sumpter is set to ‘Run the World’
Tika Sumpter (ex-Candace Young, The Have and the Have Nots) has joined Season 2 of Starz’s Run the World in a recurring role. Sumpter will play Naomi, the biological mother of Amari (Ellie Reine), who returns home from the Navy and quickly resumes her position in Amari’s life which leaves Sondi (Corbin Reid) questioning her position in the new family dynamic.
The comedy series, also starring Amber Stevens West, Andrea Bordeaux, and Bresha Webb, follows a group of four black, vibrant, fiercely loyal best friends who work, live, and play in Harlem as they strive for world domination.
Comedian CP and Isha Blaaker will also appear in recurring roles and Cree Summer and Ashley Blaine Featherson-Jenkins will guest star in the second season.
