Today on The Bold and the Beautiful, September 4: Eric urges Ridge not to base his future on Thomas or Steffy, insisting Brooke is the woman he truly wants. Taylor insists that she and Ridge set their wedding date quickly.
B&B Recap September 4: Eric Supports Brooke
Brooke greets Eric with a smile, teasing that he’s been showing up to the office a little later than usual, and she loves it.
Eric laughs and explains that he and Donna have been staying out of the mansion for a while because of some work being done. It’s only temporary.
He shifts the conversation to what happened in Italy, saying he’s surprised she and Ridge aren’t back together already.
Brooke sighs and says she’s been urging Ridge to end his engagement with Taylor, but she’s sure Taylor is doing everything she can to get him down the aisle.
Eric shakes his head and says he needs to have a talk with his son before he makes the biggest mistake of his life.
Katie Catches Up with Brooke
Just then, Katie walks in and guesses right away that they’re talking about Ridge and Taylor.
Eric gives a knowing smile and heads out, leaving Brooke and Katie behind.
Katie starts talking about Ridge and thinks he should follow his heart. She says his heart has always led him to Brooke.
Katie doesn’t hold back. She says Thomas needs to back off. If he and Steffy were still kids, it might be different, but they’re not. It’s time to accept that their parents simply don’t belong together.
She brings up Thomas’s past, listing the awful things he’s done. Brooke chimes in, clearly worried about what Thomas might do once Ridge ends the engagement. The thought lingers between them.
Taylor Pushes for a Wedding Date
Across the hall in the CEO office, Taylor and Ridge talk about Thomas’s unexpected return to town. Ridge catches Taylor off guard by revealing that Thomas and Paris are no longer together.
Ridge asks if Thomas seemed okay to her. Taylor says he did, and adds that the wedding might be something Thomas is holding on to—it could be exactly what he needs right now. She promises to keep an eye on him and says she truly believes family is what will help him most.
Taylor then shifts the mood, telling Ridge she has a special evening planned for them. She says it’s time they finally set a date. She’s happy to see their family coming back together.
Taylor thinks it’s time. After all, they’ve waited so long. She says they owe this to themselves. She suggests they should be spontaneous and also give Thomas a reason to celebrate after his breakup with Paris.
Eric Pushes Ridge to End Things
Eric enters and apologizes for interupting. Taylor is glad he is there and says there are talking about their wedding and will be setting a date soo. She hopes he will be supportive and happy for them. She decides to leave them since they must have a lot of work to do.
Eric begins, and Ridge begs him not to say a word. Eric urges his son to do something. He tells him that something must be done now.
Ridge sits with Eric and tells him he missed his grandson. Eric is surprised but touched, and says he’s looking forward to seeing him. He asks how Thomas is doing.
Ridge admits he’s not sure. Thomas has been emotional about the idea of him marrying Taylor. Eric nods but reminds Ridge that Thomas is a grown man with a life of his own. Then, with a serious look, Eric tells him it’s time to make a commitment to Brooke.
Eric reminds him that he cannot have both woman. Ridge says he is tired of going back and forth. Eric urges him to make the right choice which he says is Brooke. He reminds that he almost lost her in Italy.
As Eric leaves his son, Ridge is flooded by memrories of moments he shared with Taylor.
B&B Recap Sept 4: Taylor Has News for Thomas
Thomas sits alone, flipping through photos of Ridge and Brooke. His expression is unreadable, but his mind drifts to a recent conversation with his father. The memory is still fresh. Whatever doubts lingered before, he now feels sure—his dad won’t let them down.
Taylor drops by and greets him with a warm hug. It’s a comfort having him back in town, especially with Steffy away.
She shares some news: she and Ridge are planning to set a date once he gets home. Thomas smiles at the announcement and says it makes him genuinely happy.
Thomas confirms to Taylor that he and Paris called off the engagement. He says he really cared about her, but she didn’t care about him the way she should have.
Taylor is surprised he never mentioned it. He tells her she had enough going on. She gently reminds him that he can always come to her—her children mean everything to her.
Thomas says he wants to help make her dreams come true. Taylor smiles, saying somehow it feels like they’re finally happening. Thomas admits that even with Brooke still in the picture, he’s determined to make sure this wedding happens.
Later, Taylor is alone and remembering their engagement when Ridge arrives. She wasn’t epexcting him so soon. She says she wants to move forward with their lives. It’s what they both want and need. Soon, he will be her husband again. Meanwhile, Eric words constantly plays in Ridge’s mind as he shares a hug with Taylor.
