Today on The Bold and the Beautiful, September 3: Katie has a heart-to-heart with her sister Brooke. A battle between father and son, Ridge and Thomas, ensues, and Sheila has advice for Luna.
B&B Recap September 3: Thomas Confronts Ridge
At Forrester Creations, Thomas confronts his dad. He shows him a news report of Ridge and Brooke after Ridge rescued her in Naples. Thomas pleads with his dad not to break his mom’s heart again. He reminds him that the whole family is counting on him. Thomas says he needs this more than Ridge knows.
Thomas feels Brooke is going to seduce her way back in. He promises to make sure that doesn’t happen and begs his father to promise he won’t hurt Taylor.
Ridge notes that he thought they’d be talking about Thomas’s engagement, not his own. After all, Thomas has been engaged longer than he has.
Thomas Says The Engagement Is Off
Thomas opens up and says he can’t handle his dad messing around with his mom—nor can he or Steffy deal with it. He reveals that he and Paris called off their engagement and can’t believe what her family did, letting Liam believe he had a brain tumor.
Ridge tries to understand what Thomas means when he says he couldn’t handle it. Thomas admits he doesn’t know where his life is right now; Paris is gone, he feels like he’s not working, Douglas is always hanging out with his friends and doing schoolwork. That’s why this is so important to him. He needs his parents back together.
He reminds Ridge how Ridge helped mend Taylor’s heart when she had broken heart syndrome, and he doesn’t want him to hurt to crush her heart.
Ridge points out that it sounds like Thomas might be backsliding and asks if he’s reverting to his old ways. Thomas insists he’s fine. His parents getting back together is the only thing he’s got going for him.
“Dad, I need my family,” he says as they hug.
Brooke Opens Up to Katie
Katie and Brooke are across the hall in the design office. They talk about Ridge. Brooke cannot believe that he is still with Taylor. Katie understands her sister’s frustration. She thinks Ridge is avoiding the inevitable. Brooke notes how much more complicated things have gotten as she reveals that Thomas just returned to town.
Brooke says that with Thomas being back in town, that could be problematic. She could see him laying on the guilt trip. Katie insists she should let him—because it won’t change anything. She mentions what happened in Italy and says even Thomas and Steffy have to agree it was romantic. However, Brooke feels Thomas is pushing Ridge toward Taylor as they speak.
Katie thinks things should be simple and says Ridge needs to leave Taylor—like, yesterday. She’s convinced Ridge took the easy way out. And if they’re going to talk about kids, Brooke reminds her she has a child with Ridge, too.
Katie insists that Ridge has to leave Taylor, while Brooke just shrugs her shoulders. Brooke tells Katie, “Ridge will come through for me. He has to. Our love story won’t end.” She flashes back to that moment in Italy.
Li and Taylor Catch Up
Taylor is typing when Li is passing her office. Taylor calls her and notes that she thought she was on a leave of absence. She assumed she needed the break because of Luna. Li notes that Luna was a troubled young girl. Taylor can only imagine how hard things must have been for Li, not being able to save her after the gunshot. Li would rather not talk about it. Taylor understands and offers to be there for Li if she ever needs a listening ear.
Taylor and Li start talking about their grandkids. “Hold on, is that…” Li says as she notices a ring on Taylor’s finger. Taylor confirms that she and Ridge are engaged.
Taylor thought Li would have heard the news by now since it’s all over social media. She also mentions that her son is back in town. Li is surprised and starts asking questions about Thomas’s past.
Taylor notes that Thomas spent time in therapy and is doing much better now. She’d hate for him to have a setback, but promises to be there for him.
B&B Recap Sept 3: Luna’s Pregnancy Test Is Negative
Luna stares at the pregnancy test results. She sighs—it’s negative. “Seriously,” she says. Sheila arrives and wonders if something is going on.
Luna notes that she’s locked up in this boring place. Sheila thinks she should be grateful, considering she’s not in prison. Luna starts talking about Will and says she can’t wait for him to find out that she’s alive.
Sheila feels Luna is setting up herself for disappointment and tries to sway her. Luna points out that if Sheila can survive a bear attack, then she can survive a gun shot wound. Luna also insists that she’s trying to be patient.
Sheila advises her granddaughter that she’s rooting for her. She notes how hard it can be to have a normal life when you’re trying to get back into the world. Luna knows this, but insists that people like them are the ones who make things happen. As Sheila leaves to head back to the restaurant, Luna tells herself that she’s going to make it happen—in nine months at least.
