It was a real brain-buster picking favorites this year, but Soap Opera News managed to whip up a list of top breakout stars for 2024. We must give a hearty round of applause to everyone who made this year a soap opera-worthy spectacle—and a huge shoutout to our reigning champion, Kristen Vaganos! This talented actress came onto the soap scene in 2023 as a recast Molly. But this year, she really turned up the drama dial, giving viewers a real view of her acting chops as Molly faced the emotional rollercoaster of losing her baby (via surrogacy through her own sister, Kristina). Vaganos has proved she’s a big asset to the genre and even scored an upgrade to contract status this year—she became the first actress to ever play the character of Molly on contract. Congrats on snagging the title of Soap Opera News’ top breakout star of 2024!
