The “best of the best” lists are rolling in for 2024, and we’ve got the top 10 soap villain characters of the year! You know, the baddies whose evil deeds and dastardly motives are just chef’s kiss for the plot. After checking out the ton of episodes and taking notes (yes, we have a notebook dedicated to villainy), we’ve managed to compile a list of the top 10 villains and some honorary mentions that deserve a shout-out. These stars were so good playing their villainous characters; they made you love them or you just don’t!
We’re sure there were countless moments when you found yourself on the edge of your seat, trying not to fling your remote at the TV during those jaw-dropping scenes filled with suspenseful music. We must give a loud round of applause to everyone who made the list this year, but a big shoutout goes to none other than our top pick: Lisa Yamada for her role as Luna Nozawa on The Bold and the Beautiful! Yamada joined the CBS daytime drama in 2023, but this year, folks, she snatched the drama crown for outstanding work!
Her character, Luna, went from sweet and innocent to—hold your popcorn—full-on villain mode! Not only did she take two men to their final destination, but she framed her mom for it and decided to put Steffy in a cage. Yamada has proven herself to be so good—like, “get a standing ovation” good. There were times you never truly knew if Luna was plotting someone’s death or just innocently making moves. And that evil smile of hers? It’s so good it deserves its own fan club! Lisa Yamada, you absolute legend, congratulations on being the top pick for your outstanding work as the villainous Luna-tic on B&B!
NOTE: Aunt Jordan, played by Colleen Zenk on Y&R, was the favorite villain for 2023.
