Soap fans love a good romance, and nothing gets viewers talking like the promise of a wedding. It is also the perfect excuse to admire some of the best fashion in soaps, wedding gowns, and all.
Recently, Soap Opera News ran a poll asking fans which soap opera duo they would most want to see get married in 2026. The results were fascinating, as fans showed up to put in a vote for their favorite couples across daytime TV’s biggest names. Here is a closer look at the top five couples capturing hearts.
1. Jason Morgan and Britt Westbourne – General Hospital (16.42%)
Coming in at number one was none other than recently reunited Jason Morgan and Britt Westbourne. Their romance was cut short when Britt was “killed off” back in 2022, but things picked up steam when she returned in 2025.
Since then, it has not been smooth sailing, but fans are loving every kiss and every steamy moment. Could a wedding be next? Possibly, but with Steve Burton, who plays Jason, taking a temporary leave in the spring, the timing might be tricky. Burton doesn’t return until the summer.
2. Michael Corinthos and Jacinda Bracken – General Hospital (15.06%)
Coming in second is another General Hospital duo, Michael Corinthos and Jacinda Bracken. They may be new, but fans clearly adore them. What started as a fake romance is turning into something real, with genuine kisses, drama, and plenty of chemistry.
They even get it on in the office. Just ask Nina. After all, she caught them in the act a couple of times.
Michael and Jacinda were not far behind Jason and Britt in the poll, showing that fans are ready to see this couple take the next step.
3. Deacon Sharpe and Taylor Hayes – The Bold and the Beautiful (11.90%)
Third place goes to the forbidden romance of Deacon Sharpe and Taylor Hayes. Steffy may not like it. Neither does Ridge. But fans are clearly loving the spark between these two. So much so that they voted for them to get married in 2026. Oops, Sheila would not approve.
4. Adam Newman and Chelsea Newman – The Young and the Restless (7.88%)
With 7.88 percent of the votes, Adam and Chelsea Newman show that not every Y&R romance is about business or corporate drama. Fans clearly want to see this couple tie the knot. For fans, love stories still have a place even in Genoa City’s intense power plays.
5. Kyle Abbott and Claire Newman – The Young and the Restless (7.61%)
Rounding out the top five, Kyle and Claire Abbott have slowly won fans over with their slow-burn romance. While not as high in votes as the other duos, fans are still excited to see if 2026 might finally bring them a wedding celebration or not…
Other Fan Favorites
Beyond the top five, other shows had their popular couples. Leading for Beyond the Gates were Ted Richardson and Shanice Johnson, while on Days of Our Lives, Holly Jonas and Tate Black led the polls for that show. Even if they did not make the top five overall, these couples have plenty of devoted fans hoping for romance in 2026.
