Someone’s been spotted roaming the halls of Burbank Studios—and it’s none other than Patrick Muldoon, making his return to the Days of Our Lives set! The show’s official Instagram account hinted at his comeback with a playful reel captioned: “Who is that wandering around Salem… and why?!”
The clip shows Muldoon walking through the iconic Studio 4 door, taking it all in before saying, “Oh my God, I’m in Salem. It’s good to be back.” Clearly, Salem cannot resist a good comeback.
However, according to a show rep, Muldoon was simply visiting his old stomping grounds.
Born in September 1968, Muldoon is an actor, film producer, and musician. He was the original Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives, playing the role from 1992 to 1995 and from September 2011 to July 2012. Before his time in Salem, he portrayed Jeffrey Hunter on the popular teen series Saved by the Bell.
Following his soap stardom, Muldoon went on to appear in a variety of TV movies, including Christmas in Palm Springs, Fatal Acquittal, Deadly Revenge, Patient Killer, A Christmas Reunion, His Secret Past, Boyfriend Killer, A Tale of Two Coreys, and so much more.
The character of Austin Reed was also portrayed by Austin Peck from 1995 to 2006, and again from 2017 to 2021.
