Vivica A. Fox made her high-profile return to The Young and the Restless as Dr. Stephanie Simmons earlier this year after 30 years away from the show. But don’t start saying goodbye to Stephanie just yet.

- She’s leaving to film a new movie.

Vivica A. Fox Is Taking a Break From Y&R
In a new clip posted to her Instagram stories, the actress was seen showered with flowers by members of her glam squad at the CBS daytime drama as she prepares to take time off for her next film.
“Hey there, darlings. It’s your girl, Vivica. And I’m gonna be going away for a couple of months to do my new film, Women Like Us. But today, when I came to work… my beautiful glam squad with their fabulous self—Jerry, Orlando, Justin—got me these beautiful flowers to send me off from Young and the Restless. This was supposed to be just eight shows and it turned into six months.”
Turning to her team, Fox added, “So I love you guys. I’m going to miss you.” She then signed off with a direct message for viewers: “And all I can say to you Y&R family out there, I’ll see you soon.”
When Will Vivica A. Fox’s Last Episode Air?
There’s no official word yet on when her final airdate for this stint will be, but fans will definitely continue to see her on screen next week—and for a while longer. Bear in mind, the soap films weeks in advance—meaning if her last day on set was just this past week, viewers still have plenty of Dr. Stephanie Simmons scenes ahead before her temporary exit episode airs.
And as Fox made clear, viewers shouldn’t expect this to be the last they see of her in Genoa City—because “see you soon” means she’ll be back!
