There’s a new Charlotte on GH. Viewers tuning into the General Hospital episode on September 8 got a couple of casting surprises. Not only did James Patrick Stuart return as Valentin Cassadine, but fans were also introduced to a new Charlotte now played by Bluesy Burke.
The news was initially reported by Soap Opera Digest. According to the outlet, 17-year-old Burke is the daughter of actor and musician Billy Burke, best known for his role as Charlie Swan—Bella’s father—in the Twilight film series. He also stars in the CBS drama Fire Country and has appeared in numerous other projects. Her mother, Pollyanna Rose, also has a background in acting.
The New Charlotte on GH: Bluesy Burke
Charlotte Cassadine is the daughter of General Hospital characters Valentin Cassadine and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening). Charlotte was conceived via IVF and carried by Claudette Beaulieu, played by Bree Williamson. The character was introduced in 2016, and originally played by Scarlett Fernandez, who held the role on and off until 2023. In addition to Fernandez, the character was briefly played by Amelie McLain, and AnaSofia Bianchi for a single episode in 2023.
Charlotte’s return to General Hospital is definitely a big deal, especially as the show seems to be positioning her more prominently within the younger teen set this fall. According to spoilers, she’ll be mixing it up with characters like Rocco (Asher Antonyzyn) and Danny (also played by Antonyzyn).
