I’ve said it a hundred times and I’ll say it a hundred more. Days of Our Lives needed a huge change. And they certainly have delivered!

The NBC soap was stuck in a rating rut most of the year. A place that no one wants to be especially with a renewal in question. Luckily, Days of our Lives was renewed! So, when they decided to hit that fast forward button for the time jump we were all excited to see how the refresh would fair for the show. Unfortunately, we had to wait a little longer than we expected to find out the results due to the interruptions in programming for the impeachment hearings.

The latest Nielsen ratings for the week of December 9th – 13th saw Days land a major jump in one of the major key demographics. They moved up to the number two spot in the women’s 18-49 demo just below The Young and the Restless! There has also been a significant buzz on social media about the current storylines. From the unlikely friendship of Lani (Sal Stowers) and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) to the return of Stefano DiMera in the form of a brain-chipped Steve (Stephen Nichols). There is something for everyone to enjoy! There are also a couple of storylines that haven’t been fully tainted by spoilers that have us curious. Like who really set Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) up for the murder of Jordan, and how Adrienne was actually killed. It’s nice to watch a story and not know exactly how it plays out!

The time jump was a phenomenal idea! It has provided the reset that Days needed. Kudos to Ron Carlivati and everyone working behind the scenes. And to all of the soap fans out there…tune in! There are some great things happening in Salem right now that are not to be missed!

  1. Some do not like the time jump but I do.

  2. Major success?? I'm laughing out loud they have one slight increase in the demographics meanwhile the past three weeks they lost over 80,000 total viewers.

  3. I really do hope they read these comments. The time jump is truly the dumbest thing they have EVER done. I have watched for over 40 years and I am truly ready to give up.

  4. Yes it is the stupidest thing dool has done and I grew up on days. The best things they can do it as someone dream of nightmare. I am so close to leaving thing is you still haven't said why this or that has happened. So please dool read the comments

  5. I think it was one of the smartest moves they have ever made. Prior to the jump every thing was so boring and moving at a snails pace but now I look forward to tuning in every day.

  6. I watched for 45 years and I am so disgusted with the goofy forward that I have totally quit watching, I've been watching The Young and The Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful instead, they are more realistic. I think the original writers and McDonald Carey would have been so upset at what has happened to the show. Shame on the veteran cast members for taking part in this especially Diedra Hall.

  7. How much are you getting paid to push this propaganda? And who is paying you? You are satisfied with under 1.9 million people watching DAYS? You know full well certain soaps were preempted/interrupted that week, that affects the ratings/demo numbers, and you still have the audacity to push this crap??? Shame on you.
