Brody Hutzler is an
American actor primarily known for his soap roles, primetime roles and movie
gigs. He kick started his career in 1995 and played the roles on Zachary Smith
on ‘Guiding Light’ from 1996 – 1997, Cody Dixon on ‘The Young and the Restless’
from 1999 – 2004 and Patrick Lockhart on ‘Days of Our Lives’ from 2004 – 2007.
It’s been over 10 years since his last appearance on daytime television but it’s
no doubt that he’s dearly missed by fans. While it has been quite a while since
he’s done soap operas, he recently reconnected with former ‘Days’ co-star Judi
Evans who played his onscreen mother, Bonnie Lockhart as they work together on
an upcoming film titled “Intensive Care”. Soap Opera News caught up with the
talented actor to discuss his time on daytime TV, his upcoming film and so much
more including if a possible return to the soaps.

Of reconnecting with
Judi, Hutzler noted, “It
was great! We always had a great relationship and it was good to reconnect and
spend some time together. I love her!” He further added, “I was honored to be asked to
be part of the cast. The film is a thriller with a strong female lead. It looks
like a lot of fun!”

We then talked a little about his daytime television
career. Hutzler revealed what his experiences were like working on the
different daytime dramas. “My experiences
were good on all those shows,” he noted as he continued by saying, “GL was my first big role and I wasn’t quite
ready however, I learned a lot and met some great people. Y&R was great
because, at the time, I was recurring and able to explore many other acting
opportunities. Great people and cast! Days was great because it was an amazing
role with a lot of depth and family ties. I’ll always cherish that time. I had
such memorable story with Julie Pinson (ex-Billie Reed), Melissa Reeves
(Jennifer Horton), and or course Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady). Not to mention
Judi Evans (Bonnie Lockhart/Adrienne Kiriakis) as my mother!”

incredible job!” He also mentioned that it may be time his character
returned, “I do think it would a great
story to have Patrick and Bonnie back in Salem. So many possibilities there,”
he shared. Of course, he would return to his stomping grounds. In his own
words, “I would love to return to
daytime. It’s such an amazing adventure for an actor and I miss it, to be
honest.”

California”. We are on a bit of a hiatus but it’s a really great show with an
amazing message. As the title says we help stop crime but we also do specials.
We recently did one informing the public about phone scams and another
highlighting the LA Sheriff Departments “youth activities league”
that helps keep kids off the street. I’m very proud of the show.” He also
mentioned that he would love to be a producer again, “I would love do some more producing. I have couple things in the works.
I’ll keep you posted!”

As for what keeps him busy outside of acting, Hutzler dished,
“Well, I have a 3 year old daughter who
keeps me pretty busy. 🙂 I also, have a real estate license so I do
spend some time doing that as well. The acting business has become so unstable
that I wanted another outlet for my time. I’ve always been around the real
estate business and passionate about it so it made sense.”
