Soap fans were saddened yesterday when they learned that Greg Rikaart’s character, Leo Stark on Days of Our Lives was being killed off. Many were then hopeful he would return to his former soap home, The Young and the Restless where he played Kevin Fisher for 14 years. While we do not have news about a Y&R return, we have some good news – Rikaart has been cast in an upcoming feature film titled “Team Marco”.
The upcoming film is in pre-production stages and is written and directed by Julio Vincent Gambuto with help of B.R Uzun as a writer. It is produced by Sam Sandweiss and Thembi Banks. Rikaart will play the role of Mr. Crane as the film follows the story of Marco who is obsessed with his electronics and hardly leaves the house. But when his grandmother dies and his grandfather moves in with his family, Marco’s life is turned upside down and he’s forced…to go play outside. When “Nonno” introduces him to bocce — the world’s oldest game — and to the neighborhood crew of old Italian men, Marco finds connection to other people “in real life” instead of through his tablet and inspires a team of neighborhood kids to put down their devices and band together to take on his grandfather and his pals.
Other cast members include Thomas Kopache, Anastasia Ganias, Antoinette LaVecchia, Jake Katzman and more. Stay tuned for updates!
