In today’s recap of The Young and the Restless for April 13, 2023: Nikki and Lauren join forces against Diane, Abby accepts Devon’s invitation, and Nate and Victoria give into temptation.
Lucy is thanked by Summer for her speech. As Summer is still in tears, her true motivation for putting the memorial service together is revealed. She suggests that Diane give a speech because she and Phyllis have a long history together. Diane is hesitant and does not believe it is a wise decision. Victor declines her recommendation in favor of doing it secretly with his granddaughter. Diane wants to do the same, but Summer encourages her to tell the truth right then and there. Before Daniel decides it’s his turn to speak about his mother, Diane nods in agreement and makes a quick speech. At the memorial, Danny sings a special song.
Chance files an arrest warrant after learning about Diane’s identity as the poison’s buyer. A letter from Phyllis to Diane is discovered by the police after searching the Abbott Mansion. Diane tells Jack as she moves about the Jazz Club that Chance has been essentially glaring at her the whole memorial ceremony. She is unsure about his true purpose there. Chance informs Diane that she is under arrest for the murder of Phyllis Summers. Diane is adamant that she is innocent and Jack defends her. As she is about to leave, she begs Michael to help her. He turns her down but advises her not to say anything until she has an attorney present.
Abby brings all her stuff and officially moves in with Devon. Devon hands her a set of keys to the apartment as they look forward to their future together.
Victoria reflects on her kiss with Nate. Audra comes to the office. During their talk, Victoria assumes that Audra is set in a place to take over Nate’s position at the company should anything happen. Audra leaves and Nate arrives. He is not too surprised that Audra has her eyes on his job but he has no plans of going anywhere, at least not voluntarily.
Work time is over, declares Victoria. She wants to have a drink to celebrate. They drink and things get hot as Nate finds it hard to resist her. They kiss and make out on the office desk while Audra listens outside the door.
