Big news, soap fam! Mishael Morgan, best known for her historic Daytime Emmy win and her role as Amanda Sinclair on The Young and the Restless, is officially stepping behind the camera.
The Canadian Trinidadian actress has announced the launch of her brand new production company, Iron Spine Productions.

In an Instagram post, Morgan shared the exciting update with fans.
“New chapter. Deep breath. Let’s go. I have officially opened my production company. It feels equal parts thrilling and terrifying in the best way. I’m still acting (always), but I’m also stepping into a space with more agency, more ownership, and more responsibility for the stories I help bring into the world.”
She also got real about the doubts that came with this next chapter.
“I won’t lie, impostor syndrome tried to pull up a chair. But then I remembered something I’ve promised myself over and over again: never stop pushing past what’s comfortable. Growth never happens there.”
Launching the company this month held special meaning for Morgan.
“Launching this during Black History Month feels especially meaningful. It’s a reminder that the stories we tell, and who gets to tell them, matter.”
What Projects Are Coming Next?
As for what fans can expect, Morgan revealed she is already developing new projects.
“I’m incredibly excited to begin developing a project based on @vanessarileyauthor beautiful book, one that’s deeply connected to my Caribbean heritage and to stories that honor our past while pushing us forward.
I’m happy to be shopping an incredibly unique reality concept with my friend @andrealewis as well as @happythoughts.creative and @martinifilmstudios.
There are so many exciting things on the horizon. Stories that matter. Stories that challenge me,” she says, while adding that they are stories that are personal.
Morgan has been preparing for this move for years. In an interview with Playback, she shared that while working on The Young and the Restless, she made it a point to learn as much as possible behind the scenes.
“When I was on The Young and the Restless, I shadowed the directors, I shadowed some producers, I even did some spec writing to get myself prepared,” she said.
The name Iron Spine Productions also carries deep personal meaning. It comes from a near-fatal car accident Morgan survived at age 19, when she broke her neck and required an iron spinal structure as part of her recovery.
