Former soap star, Jack Stauffer has been hospitalized after several surgeries and rehab. A GoFundMe page was created to help him and notes, in December 2020 Jack was in front of his house walking his dog when he slipped on a patch of wet grass and that moment changed his life forever. He’d recently had his right kneecap replaced but this accident would severely damage the quadriceps tendon of his left knee. After multiple surgeries, they found they could not repair the catastrophic damage to his right knee. Jack has been through many months of rehabilitation and battled severe infections that recently lead to sepsis. This life-threatening condition is his body’s response to the damage inside his leg. Surgeons agreed that his leg must be amputated above the knee. He is currently battling an infection in his bloodstream. Last night (Jan 14) the amputation was performed. When he woke up, his first words to Katy were “Did the 49ers win?” and “I’m alive!!!”

Stauffer is known for playing Chuck Tyler on All My Children, Scott Adams/Sherm Madison on The Young and the Restless, Leo Rogers on Days of Our Lives, Lieutenant Bojay/Captain Bojay on Battlestar Galactia and more.

The GoFundMe page was created by Laurette Spang McCook (the real-life wife of The Bold and the Beautiful’s John McCook who plays Eric Forrester).
