Philip Boyd has added a fourth daytime soap opera to his already impressive résumé. The actor, who is well known for his work in Tyler Perry projects, has joined Beyond the Gates in the recurring role of Dr. Miles Arnold.
Boyd made his first appearance on the June 16 episode when Dr. Miles delivered difficult news to Eva Thomas’ family. During the emotional scene, he revealed that Ted Richardson was not a match to serve as a donor for Eva’s life-saving liver transplant. Later, he also shared that her mother, Leslie, was not a match.
A Familiar Face for Soap Fans: Philip Boyd
This isn’t Boyd’s first trip through the daytime world.
In fact, soap lovers may recognize him from several roles across the genre.
He previously appeared as Tony DiMarco on General Hospital, David on The Young and the Restless, and Brick/Arthur Perkins on Days of Our Lives.
A Career Beyond Daytime
Outside of soaps, Boyd has built an impressive list of television credits.
Many viewers may remember him as Mitch on 90210 or from his five-season run as Oscar on Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots.
Boyd’s debut comes as Fairmont Crest continues to deal with the devastating aftermath of the tornado.
The storm left destruction throughout the community, but no one has been affected more than Eva Thomas.
As viewers know, Eva remains in critical condition and urgently needs a liver transplant after suffering severe injuries during the disaster.
With Ted ruled out as a donor match, the search for someone who can save Eva’s life becomes even more urgent.
