Fairmont Crest is completely shaken right now.
The shocking news of Derek Baldwin’s (Ben Gavin) death is hitting the entire community hard, and the emotional fallout is only getting started. Everywhere you turn, people are grieving, struggling for answers, and trying to figure out what happens next.
Because of the chaos surrounding Derek’s death, Anita (Tamara Tunie), Vernon (Clifton Davis), and Ted (Keith D. Robinson) are forced to jump into damage-control mode. They are doing everything they must while Andre (Sean Freeman) and Dani (Karla Mosley) spend time comforting someone close to them.
At the same time, Nicole (Daphnee Duplaix) receives a difficult request when she is asked to reach out to a deeply distraught colleague who is not handling things well at all.
There is a heavy cloud hanging over the entire town right now, and it does not look like things will calm down anytime soon.

Outside of the town’s grief, the McBride family is heading straight into a storm of drama on Friday.

Is Doug McBride Really Coming Back?
Fans recently caught a huge clue while watching the show.
Jason Graham’s name appeared in the closing credits, which strongly suggests Doug McBride will be returning this week. Naturally, that has sparked one major question among viewers: Is Doug actually alive?
Viewers will remember Doug was believed to have died back in 2025 after a fiery car wreck. However, a body was never recovered.
That alone has fueled nonstop speculation that Doug somehow survived. Whether he returns as a ghost, a vision, or very much alive, his appearance is going to send shockwaves through Fairmont Crest.
