Leslie Moves on a New Target
Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) is back at it, and this time she insists on making Hayley (Marquita Goings) her new ally. Leslie is easily one of the town’s most despised women, so it makes total sense that Hayley has zero interest in joining forces with her. Still, Hayley’s blunt rejection is not going to stop Leslie from trying anyway.
Anita and Vernon Celebrate a Major Milestone
While Leslie is plotting her next move, Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) finally have a real reason to celebrate. The couple has spent months focused almost entirely on Anita’s scary breast cancer diagnosis.
Now that she has completed her final round of chemotherapy, things are looking up for the matriarch.
To celebrate the good news, the two plan a quiet, romantic evening together. Unfortunately, their sweet night of romance gets abruptly interrupted when Kat (Colby Nixon) and Martin (Brandon Claybon) show up.
Beyond the Gates: Bill Loses His Edge in a Crisis
Elsewhere, Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) needs help containing a potential threat and turns to Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) to handle it. Joey has relied on Bill for this kind of muscle in the past, and Bill usually gets the job done perfectly. We can also think of a number of people in Fairmont Crest who turn to Bill, and it works out as well.
This time around, Bill is noticeably off his game, and Joey immediately picks up on it.
At the same time, Beyond the Gates spoilers for May 29 also tease that Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and Naomi (Arielle Prepetit)
sit down for an incredibly raw conversation. Jacob’s dangerous undercover operation has taken a huge toll on their relationship. Naomi spent every single day worrying if he would make it home safe, and now they have to look at the lasting effects this trauma has left on their lives.
