Welcome back to our “Characters of the Past” column – today we are looking at Days of Our Lives’ Maxine Landis who was played by Aloma Wright from 2008 until her final appearance in 2015. Viewers would recall Maxine as the head nurse at the Salem University Hospital who would often offer great advice to several Salemites. Maxine was even instrumental in the transformation of Melanie Jonas (ex-Molly Burnett) who was a self-centered brat but later became a woman with kindness and compassion. Maxine was very close friends with Dr. Daniel Jonas (ex-Shawn Christian) and Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves). For a brief time while in Salem, she dated Abe Carver (James Reynolds). While there has never been any sight of her extended family, it was mentioned that she has a daughter and her husband Carl had passed away.
Her absence from the canvas has never been addressed since her last appearance but Aloma Wright has been hard at work on other gigs since leaving the NBC daytime most recently on series such as; The Soul Man, The Carmichael Show, Suits and The Guest Book. Abe has moved on with his life and is now dating Valerie (Vanessa Williams), would fans want to see Maxine return and placed in a love triangle with Abe and Valerie? Is time for Maxine to come home?
