We recently got to sit down and catch up with Christopher Sean, Paul Narita on Days of Our Lives and Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. He filled us in on everything he’s had going on since leaving Days and what it was like coming back into the Salem universe for Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem season 2 and so much more! Keep reading to find out just how much he shared!

We started by asking him about the fascinating projects he has been a part of since leaving Days in 2018. He told us, “I started doing Star Wars Resistance. That was a lot
of fun. That show was on Disney Channel, Disney XD,
and now it’s moved over to Disney+. I did Star Wars: Visions, which is a
lot of fun and I recently did a panel at Star Wars Celebration where they announced
their bringing season two. I’m currently working on Gotham Knights where I
played Nightwing He’s the original Robin, who grows up and becomes his own
superhero. Nightwing, now he’s protecting Blüdhaven and in
our video game, Bruce Wayne, Batman, is killed. So the 4 orphans, he raised three of them, and Batgirl, which is Gordon’s kid have to step in and protect Gotham City. So that was a lot of fun doing
performance capture up in Montreal in Canada.”

He also told us about an episode of TV that he did that was very special to him, “I filmed NCIS: LA, a very,
very important episode because it was about Asian American hate. And how the people who are being attacked, regardless if they’re veterans or not,
shouldn’t be attacked at all. And these crimes, hate crimes, that are
happening. It shows just how we feel as Asian Americans about it. My character, Jack Tanaka was written by Kyle Harimoto. Kyle Harimoto is a phenomenal writer and he wrote the episode and I read it and
I cried because this means so much to me. It’s a really, really
important message.”

As busy as all that sounds, it doesn’t stop there! He did more! “And finally, I’ve done the show You on Netflix and
that was really cool. When Squid Games was very popular at number one on
Netflix, our show knocked it off. You, season three, is the seventh most-watched show in Netflix history in the first 30 days. The director Silver Tree and the executive producer, Sera Gamble, is amazing and phenomenal. So
creative, so unique, such a different view on things. I’m just really honored
to have worked with both of them female empowerment, female director, and female
executive producer and to have such kindness on set was awesome. It has
always been a dream of mine to be a part of such a large project and they
bumped me up to the main cast marketing campaign, which was amazing. That was
really cool. So I’ve been working and I have a couple of other projects in the works right now.”

He gave us what has to be his signature grin and teased, “I
may or may not be filming a movie right now. I might be the lead of a Netflix
feature film right now.” Well, he may or may not be doing this but we are all definitely on the edge of our seats to see it when it’s released!

Even though so many massive opportunities have come his way since Paul departed Salem, Sean hasn’t forgotten how he got his start, “Days of Our Lives provided me a home and provided me an opportunity to
work means the world to me. They’re the ones who jump-started my career and they’re the ones who
I will always have loyalty and love for.”

The day we interviewed him was the day the trailer for Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem season 2 dropped and he was as excited as we all were, “The trailer dropped today which is really awesome.” He loved seeing all his Days castmates, “I saw Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) and Kristen Alfonso (Hope Brady). I saw Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) and I got to hang out with Drake Hogestyn (John Black)!”

He loves them all but one holds a special place in his heart, “Everyone amazing but Drake will sit me down and we will sit in his dressing room for hours
and nothing’s changed. Years ago on the show, when they were
going to announce me as his son, for me it was surreal. And then I got to go hang out with him and it was even more
surreal because he accepted me and he was so nice and kind and he would just tell me wonderful stories. He was always loving and he was always paternal, but he always
mentored me. He always guided me. And everything he said, everyday I remind myself, ‘that nametag can come off that door so
quickly’, ‘you’re only as good as your last performance’, ‘keep swinging
hard kid, keep swinging hard’.  And it’s like ‘you’re right Dad, you’re right’. I’ll never
forget those things.”

As far as what we can expect from Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem season 2, Christopher told us, “There’s a lot, a lot of world travel. It’s one of the biggest events I’ve
ever seen. And I’ve not seen so much hustle and bustle while we were filming.
I mean the place was packed. Even Drake Hogestyn said, ‘if you look around, there’s a new life in
the show.’ This is a great time and the show is really booming. You’ve got love never dies, love always wins. You’ve got some amazing storylines. And I don’t know what I can say in reference to Paul outside
of, he’s back and he’s ready for whatever comes his way.”

We asked him about his dream storyline for Paul and he shared that he has already played it! “Dream storyline for Paul is Beyond Salem 2. I mean, I really had a great
time and everything we did on the new storyline, it was everything I wanted. Because I basically said ‘these are the things I would like if I
would come back’ and they said, ‘surprise, we are writing that for you now’.”

There was not a moment’s hesitation when we asked him what other Days role he would play if he could, “John Black.
Absolutely. I mean the man is a heartthrob. The man is a hero. He’s an
action hero. And you know, people talk about smelling the homemade cookies. He’s become infamous for the work that he’s done. The man is able to live the life he wants. He shows up. He’s humble. He’s disciplined. And to me, he’s one of the lifelines and one of the pillars that hold that show up. So for me, that would be that would absolutely be my dream role.”

He wrapped up our talk with a heartfelt message to his fan, saying, “I’m
just excited, very excited to be back. And I hope that the fans know that I’ve
always loved them and they’ve always been the lifeline of my career. They
were the ones who supported me after I left the show, and they’ve always been there. I love them and I always have, always will.”
