Talk about some soapy drama – rumor has it that Ian Buchanan could be making a return as Duke Lavery on General Hospital. And, yeah we know – the character is dead and has been dead for almost two years now. But, this wouldn’t be the first time that Duke came back to from the dead. After the show’s EP, Frank Valentini took to Twitter to tease fans of some upcoming news, the speculation began that Buchanan could be returning. And, the idea is not so far fetched after all.
Here are some reasons that Duke’s return is possible – (1) Duke now has a son, Griffin [Matt Cohen], one he has never met. With Duke back, Griffin and Duke could finally have that father and son relationship that viewers are longing to see. (2) Anna’s [Finola Hughes] love life is dormant. Anna needs a man and yes there might be a few viable pairing options in Port Charles – but the end result is ain’t nobody like Duke and Anna. (3) Olivia Jerome [Tonja Walker] is back and she was pretty obsessed with Duke back in the day. With Duke back, we’d like to see what sort of interaction he and Olivia would have. (4) Finally we could see some good drama, when Duke faces off with Julian [William DeVry] for putting a hit on his life. (5) Duke could be reunited with his friend and former boss, Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard].
Though we would love to see Buchanan’s return, Valentini’s tweet could mean several other things. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Intel as soon as all is revealed, we will update you.
