Days of Our Lives fans may be missing Hank Northrop’s character, Liam Selejko, but the actor won’t be away from screens for long.
Northrop was last seen on the Peacock soap after Gabi enlisted Julie’s help to get Liam out of Salem. While fans wait for his eventual return, the actor already has a new project coming out soon.
Northrop recently revealed on Instagram that he is part of the cast of Boatlift 9/11, an upcoming film inspired by the remarkable true story of the largest maritime evacuation in American history.
“What an incredible honor to be part of such a powerful and meaningful story,” he wrote.
A Story Inspired by Heroism on September 11
Set on the morning of September 11, 2001, Boatlift 9/11 follows seasoned tugboat captain Jan and her daughter Britt as they witness the terrorist attacks unfold in New York Harbor.
After two planes strike the Twin Towers, the pair rush to Battery Park, knowing thousands of people could become stranded along the waterfront.
With their tugboat not designed to carry large numbers of passengers, Jan and Britt face dangerous conditions as they transport survivors across the Hudson River to safety.
The situation becomes even more perilous when the towers collapse, covering the area in smoke and debris. Amid the chaos, Britt jumps into the river to rescue a passenger and is swept away, leaving Jan desperately searching for her daughter while continuing rescue efforts.
The film ultimately tells the story of ordinary people who stepped up during an extraordinary tragedy. Together with more than 100 vessels and countless volunteers, Jan and Britt help evacuate an estimated 500,000 people in what became the largest maritime evacuation in history.

When Does Boatlift 9/11 Premiere?
Boatlift 9/11 is currently scheduled for release on September 11, 2026.
The film aims to shine a light on one of the lesser-known stories to emerge from that tragic day, highlighting the courage of civilians who came together to help strangers in need.
For Days of Our Lives fans, it will also offer a chance to see Hank Northrop in a very different role while they wait for Liam Selejko’s next chapter in Salem.
