Philip Shares a Secret With Joy
At the Kiriakis mansion, Philip brings Joy a package he picked up from Roman at the Brady Pub. As he hands it to her, the contents fall out onto the floor. After looking at the label, Philip asks, “Joy, why is your father prescribing you muscle relaxants?”
She explains that she aggravated an old injury during physical therapy. Philip realizes that her father still does not know the truth about her situation. Still, he promises to keep his word and stay out of it.
Philip then reveals that during a recent property inspection, they lied about the condition of the building so the buyer would back out of the sale, and the plan worked. Joy is stunned by the news but agrees to keep her lips sealed.
Later, Alex drops off a few items that Kelsey left at his place. He also mentions that he wanted to say hello to his little girl. Joy thanks him for letting them stay at the mansion.
Stephanie’s Suspicions About Joy Grow
At the hospital, Stephanie (Abigail Klein) tells Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) that she’s becoming increasingly suspicious of Joy. She wants her mother to put Joy to the test when Joy isn’t expecting it, but Kayla refuses to go along with the idea.
Later, Stephanie runs into Philip in the town square. She reveals that she’s no longer doing PR work for the hospital. Philip takes the opportunity to invite her back to Titan, but Stephanie explains that she’s already working with DiMera Enterprises.
The conversation takes another turn when Stephanie asks whether Philip has seen Joy lately. He confirms that he has and admits that something feels off. He also doesn’t understand why Joy refuses to tell her parents about her paralysis.
Kristen Makes a Heartbreaking Decision About Rachel
Still at the hospital, Kristen wakes up in a panic because Rachel is not in her bed. Brady calms her down and explains that the doctors took her. They have it under control. Kristen gets emotional and promises that once Rachel recovers, she will leave and stay away for good.
She reveals that she made a deal with God. She promised that if He heals her daughter, she will remove herself from Rachel’s life. Kristen admits that what Brady told her about Rachel’s feelings hurt deeply. “And the most loving thing I can do as a mother is just step back,” she confesses, adding, “even if it means not being in her life.”
Kristen explains that she does not understand why she keeps making terrible choices. Brady encourages her to focus on getting better, whether that means therapy, medication, or professional help. Later, Kayla arrives and updates Brady about Rachel while Kristen hides nearby. After Kayla leaves, Rachel wakes up and notices that Kristen is still around. Rachel tells her mother that she is so glad she stayed. The little one admits that she was afraid Kristen was going to leave her again. “Please don’t go,” Rachel begs.
Kristen explains to Rachel that she loves her very much. Although she wishes she could stay, she simply cannot right now. Rachel asks if her father is the one forcing her to leave. However, Kristen explains that this is entirely her own fault and no one else’s.
She admits she made a terrible mistake, which is why she must leave Salem for a while. “I did something that I regret terribly, sweetheart,” Kristen notes. She reveals that she is going away to work on herself. And she promises that she will be back someday.
EJ Confronts Dante About Dominic Marino
In his suite at the Salem Inn, Dante wraps up a phone call with Sami just as EJ shows up. EJ immediately starts demanding answers, particularly about the infamous Dominic Marino. Dante claims he does not have much information.
When EJ asks about Dominic’s parents, Dante says he does not even know their names. EJ accuses him of lying. Dante insists that all he knows is that the parents lived in the States. He adds that they always sent a specific woman to help Dominic get settled in boarding school.
EJ Confirms that Rita Lied
That detail grabs EJ’s attention.“What woman? What was her name?” he demands. Dante notes that her name started with an R. He thinks it might be Reba or Reno. EJ interrupts and asks, “Rita?”
Dante confirms that is the name. EJ notes that a woman named Rita actually worked for his family. Dante points out that there are plenty of women named Rita in the world. However, after EJ describes her features, Dante confirms that the description matches the woman perfectly.
EJ snaps at Dante again and accuses him of outright lying. He warns Dante that he does not know who he really is or how he fits into Dominic’s plot. He also tells Dante not to hurt Sami.
“Hey! That’s enough!” Dante exclaims. He tells EJ that after everything he did to Sami, he has no right to throw stones. In fact, Dante does not believe EJ’s outburst is really about protecting his fiancée. He tells EJ that Sami is no longer his concern. Dante adds that he actually likes Dominic. He notes that he is not the one posing a threat to Sami. With nothing left to discuss, he tells EJ to get out.
