Here’s what to expect on Wednesday’s episode

Key Takeaways

  • Kayla Brady presents Cat Greene with an unexpected opportunity.
  • EJ DiMera confides in Rita as his secret schemes begin to unravel.
  • Holly Jonas refuses to back down as accusations continue to mount.
  • Gabi Hernandez and Leo Stark form an unlikely partnership.

Kayla’s Proposition

Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) has seen just about everything in the halls of University Hospital, but the ongoing chaos surrounding EJ’s (Dan Feuerriegel) “miracle drug” and the shady medical operations in Salem have her on high alert. And she’s not the only one.

Anyhow, Kayla steps in with a major offer for Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord). Cat has been working as EJ’s faithful assistant, but she’s actually undercover for the ISA—something EJ hasn’t figured out yet. So, what kind of offer does Kayla present her with?

EJ Opens Up

Speaking of the DiMera leader, EJ is feeling the walls close in. He just had to apologize to Cat, and his secret projects with Dr. Rolf are threatening to blow up in his face.

Needing a safe sounding board to manage the fallout, EJ turns to Rita (Maggie Carney) and confides in her.

Let’s not forget that EJ has been framing Holly. He even went as far as to plant pills in her bag.

Dropping his usual bulletproof facade is a rare move, meaning whatever he tells Rita is going to be big. Luckily for him, Rita is a long-time family friend and employee who knows how to keep a secret.

Holly Sticks to Her Guns

Elsewhere, Holly’s (Ashley Puzemis) recent collapse has the entire town panicking, and everyone is assuming the worst. After getting tag-teamed and confronted by Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Tate (Leo Howard), Holly swears up and down that she isn’t using again.

But the evidence keeps turning up, and they can’t seem to believe her story. However, Holly is sticking to her guns and declaring her innocence. Can she get them to believe her?

An Unlikely Alliance

When Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) find themselves on the same side of a problem, you know things are about to get chaotic.

Gabi is busy trying to outmaneuver the Kiriakis family, and Leo is fresh off a tough confession to Marlena (Deidre Hall). Realizing they can achieve more together than apart, this unexpected duo officially teams up. What causes this alliance? It might have something to do with the fact that Gwen has suddenly gone MIA, right?

Sarah Turns to Her Ex

Finally, Sarah Horton is carrying the weight of the world between Holly’s medical crisis and the investigation into the Coriseal deaths. Realizing she can’t handle this nightmare alone, she swallows her pride and turns to Xander (Paul Telfer) for help. Xander is always willing to step up for Sarah, but getting involved in this mess might disrupt the rare peace they’ve been trying to build.

Which storyline has your attention the most: Kayla’s offer to Cat, EJ’s confession to Rita, Holly’s fight to prove her innocence, or Gabi and Leo joining forces?
