On the October 22 episode of Days of Our Lives, Theo swings by the DiMera mansion to invite his uncle EJ to Lexie’s memorial. Theo remains hopeful that things will stay peaceful, and EJ promises he will cause no trouble.
Meanwhile, Javi and Leo have a lunch date at the Small Bar. Leo cannot help but highlight that they are still stuck in the friend zone. Still, they manage to have a good time together. However, things turn serious when Javi asks Leo to drop his investigation into the counterfeit purses. Leo refuses.
Javi then shocks Leo by telling him that he does not think he can be friends with him anymore. Leo jumps to conclusions, but Javi quickly clarifies that it is not what he thinks. The real problem is that Javi cannot get over his romantic feelings for Leo. Javi explains that he no longer wants to hang out as friends because he wants to upgrade their relationship to a real date.
At home, Johnny and Chanel prepare to head to the hospital for her lumpectomy. While getting ready, they talk about DiMera Enterprises and all the ongoing drama. Chanel wishes Johnny would quit his job there. Although he cannot walk away right now, he promises her that he will eventually.
Later at the hospital, Theo runs into Johnny while Chanel is in surgery. Johnny asks to talk. He assures Theo that he is trying to make things right. He admits he deeply regrets ever getting involved in his father’s scheme.

Abe Shares His Health Concerns
Abe goes to the hospital to meet with Kayla. He explains that he has been dealing with a few health issues. He initially thought they were temporary and would go away on their own, but they have only persisted. “What kind of issues?” Kayla asks.
Abe reveals that he has been unusually forgetful lately. He cannot remember where he left his car keys or his wallet, and he keeps forgetting what he just read or watched. He even shares that he has been experiencing hand tremors. In fact, while making out the guest list for Lexie’s memorial, his own son could not read his handwriting.
Kayla offers to do a quick exam to figure out what is going on. She notes that the symptoms he described could point to a few different diagnoses, so they will need to run some tests.
Abe begs her to keep their conversation strictly between them, and Kayla agrees. Abe points out that Lexie experienced similar symptoms before she died, though he does not believe he has the same condition. “I just don’t want Theo to relive what he went through with his mother,” Abe explains.
Later, Abe encounters Paulina at the hospital. She wonders why he is there, and he claims he came to check on Chanel. Shortly after, Kayla comes out and announces that the procedure went extremely well. The surgery was a complete success, and she adds that they can visit Chanel later after she rests.
Steve Tracks George as EJ Plots
Meanwhile, Kayla checks in with Steve over the phone. Steve is currently watching George’s house. He promises to follow him wherever he hid the laptop. Still, Kayla warns her husband to be careful. She points out that George is desperate and could be dangerous. Steve assures her that he will be fine and tells her not to worry.
At the same time, EJ is frantically trying to get a hold of George. As Steve keeps a close eye on the house, he sees EJ pay George a visit. Inside, EJ and George discuss Johnny firing him. EJ calls the situation unfortunate. He thinks that it is even worse that George failed to bring the laptop with him.
George assures EJ that the computer is safe in a hidden spot at the lab. When EJ asks how he plans to retrieve it, George explains that he cloned a keycard and plans to break in tonight.
EJ tells him that once he gets the laptop, he needs to get far away from Salem. To that end, EJ hands him a stack of cash, a new passport, and notes that there is more money waiting in a bank account under his new identity.
Later, Steve spies George bringing out his suitcases, so he calls Johnny with an update. Steve notes that George looks ready to run, but he doubts George will leave town without retrieving that laptop first. Since Steve still has the access credentials Johnny gave him, he plans to follow George to DiMera. However, before he can move or even hang up the phone, an unknown attacker comes up from behind and tases Steve!
