After shocking General Hospital fans with Dex Heller’s death, Evan Hofer is back — and this time in primetime. The GH alum will appear on 9-1-1: Nashville in the February 26 episode, giving fans their first chance to see him on screen since leaving GH.
In a new Instagram post, Hofer teased the episode while standing next to a show banner, writing, “Watch @911nashville Thursday night? Love, E.”
The episode, titled Don Begins, follows flashbacks revealing how a devastating house fire reshaped Don Hart’s life and how he later met Dixie and Blythe. Meanwhile, Station 113 responds to a cyclist pinned against a tree after being hit by a car, adding high-stakes action alongside the emotional storylines.
Evan Hofer’s First TV Appearance Since GH
Hofer’s General Hospital character Dex Heller was killed off in 2024 after joining the show in 2022. Dex suffered a fatal stab wound and eventually succumbed to cardiac arrest, despite doctors initially expecting him to survive.
This marks Hofer’s first television role since exiting GH. But this is far from his first primetime gig — Hofer has appeared on Modern Family, Kickin’ It, Lethal Weapon, Swedish Dicks, and more.
About 9-1-1: Nashville
9-1-1: Nashville is ABC’s latest installment in the hit 9-1-1 franchise. The procedural drama premiered on October 9, 2025, and serves as the second spin-off, following 9-1-1: Lone Star.
Created by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani, with Brad Falchuk and Angela Bassett as executive producers, the series follows Nashville emergency responders — firefighters, EMTs, police officers, and 911 dispatchers — as they handle life-threatening crises.
Most main characters are based at Station 113 of the Nashville Fire Department, with some working at Metro Nashville Dispatch. The show combines intense rescues with personal stories.
Tune in on February 26 to catch Evan Hofer in his first primetime appearance since General Hospital.
