General Hospital Recap January 29, 2024: Today on GH – Spencer and Trina enjoy a romantic dinner in Paris. Dante and Chase look for Esme. Alexis has news for Laura. Curtis has his first PT session. Finn wrestles with an idea regarding his case.

Spencer and Trina arrive at the restaurant. Trina interprets the French language spoken by the staff. Spencer admits that he has never visited this establishment before. While Trina is fond of everything Parisian, she is not so fond of Spencer’s secretive behavior regarding their plans. Despite her inquiries, Spencer remains adamant about preserving the surprise. As Trina contemplates her order, Spencer appears preoccupied. When she draws his attention, he shares an anecdote about being persuaded to sample caviar by Nikolas. Spencer expresses the hope that Ace will grow up more grounded than himself.
Later after their meal, Spencer and Trina head outside. He asks if she is ready for the next surprise but she tells him the she doesn’t need one because all she needs is him. After they walk away, Esme comes out and follows them.

Laura sits with Kevin at the hospital. She hopes he can hear her, as she pleads earnestly for him to wake up and open his eyes. Eventually, he does so, and she is overjoyed to have him back. Portia conducts an assessment to confirm Kevin’s well-being, following which Laura asks who did this to him. Kevin discloses that it was Esme and, in response, Laura questions his potential insight into the motive behind the attack. Kevin proceeds to recount the events at The Invader.
Laura recommends that he take some rest. Kevin asserts that he has persevered through numerous challenges, and he refuses to succumb to Esme’s actions. Laura talks about her faith she had in Esme, acknowledging that she became a devoted mother but now she has her memories back. She believes that the loss of her son profoundly impacted her.
Kevin is unsettled by the assumption that Esme traveled to Toronto to visit her nanny, and he questions her motive. He senses that something is amiss, suggesting that something else happened in Alexis’ office that he is not remembering. Detective Bennett arrives to obtain a statement from Kevin, who recounts his version of the events. He vividly recalls seeing Esme with The Invader corporate card, prompting him to question why they are saying she purchased a ticket using her credit card. Laura advises that they should promptly contact Alexis.

At his initial physical therapy session, Curtis is reminded that he still has a challenging path ahead. He expresses a desire to attempt standing, but is interrupted by Stella, who advises him against it. Despite her concern, Curtis is still determined. Stella then pleads with Ben, the therapist, for a private conversation with her nephew. She emphasizes the importance of patience while encouraging Curtis to persevere gradually.
Portia arrives with positive news about Kevin, and asks about Ben’s whereabouts. She wonders if Curtis’ session has already come to an end. After Stella departs, Curtis confides in her about overexerting himself. He also asks about Esme, to which she shares that Esme is arrested and out of their lives for good. Later, after Ben checks him out, Curtis is confident he will be walking when Trina returns from Paris.

Tracy and Alexis arrive one after the other at the courthouse and are informed that Finn has given testimony, but there is hope that Sam may yet come to the rescue. It is mentioned that Mr. Muldoon may have visited an oncologist before becoming going to see Finn. Alexis is surprised and states how an oncologist could have missed late-stage cancer, and they conclude that this is not the case. Additionally, it is revealed that there is still uncertainty regarding the identity of the medical professional Muldoon had been consulting. Tracy proposes a strategy involving recalling Muldoon’s wife to the stand and pressuring her to confess, thereby making the attempted fraud a matter of public record.
Martin considers that attributing blame for the alleged fraud may not work out for their good. However, Martin has an idea and proceeds to approach Diane. Mrs. Muldoon approaches Dr. Finn and asserts that, if he possessed a shred of integrity, he would alter his plea to guilty. Alexis advises her against conversing with Finn, but as she desires to address the topic of integrity, Finn says it is ok. Martin tells Diane his intention to include an additional witness to the list. Later, everyone is informed that the case will resume in five minutes.

In Canada, the apartment has been monitored, but no individuals matching the descriptions of Esme or the nanny have been observed entering or exiting. Dante then pleads with Maggie to allow them in as they want to have a word with her. Maggie remarks that since her arrival in Toronto, things have been notably quiet for her, and she wishes for it to stay that way. Dante acknowledges that they don’t want to cause any problems for her. He adds that they are searching for Esme Prince. Maggie maintains that she has not crossed paths with Esme in years.
After inspecting the location, Chase returns to report that there is noy indication that Esme has been there. Dante contacts Laura to provide an update, informing her that Toronto yielded no results. He asks if she heard from Nikolas as he speculates that Esme is attempting to locate Nikolas in order to ger back her son before going into hiding. Laura acknowledges the possibility of a new lead as Alexis arrives with information. Alexis discloses that there was an airline charge. Kevin says she was going to Paris and Alexis confirms that Esme indeed booked a ticket to Paris.
