There’s a new face headed to Port Charles. According to Soap Opera Digest, General Hospital has recast the role of Scout Cain. Beginning in July, Kayden Brenna Tokarski will step into the role as the show moves forward with plans to age the character up.
The role was most recently played by Cosette Abinante, who is reportedly moving on to an upcoming series called Frisco King.
Fans with sharp eyes already spotted Tokarski before the official announcement. She briefly appeared in footage from the show’s recent 16,000th episode celebration, which sparked speculation that a recast was on the way. And the fans were right!
Who Is Kayden Brenna Tokarski?
While Tokarski is making her soap opera debut, she’s far from new to acting.
The young actress has steadily built an impressive résumé across both television and film. Many viewers may recognize her from the Emmy-nominated Starz series Gaslit, where she played the younger version of Julia Roberts’ character.
More recently, she appeared in Lifetime movies, including My Professor’s Deadly Secret and Killer in the Woods.
She’s also had success in the commercial world.
Tokarski voiced Wednesday Addams in a national Wendy’s campaign tied to Netflix’s hit series Wednesday. In addition, she appeared alongside Joey Fatone in a national Red Lobster commercial and has been featured in campaigns for both the LA Clippers and Subaru.
More Than Just an Actress
Outside of acting, Tokarski has a wide range of accomplishments.
She’s a Youth Ambassador for Breaking the Chains Foundation and has been recognized for her advocacy work. Earlier this year, she was honored as part of Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley’s 2026 Women Making a Difference Awards.
She’s also a singer with an alto/belt vocal range and previously achieved Junior Olympian status in 1-meter diving.
The Scout recast comes shortly after another major casting announcement for the soap.
As previously reported, General Hospital recently cast Dean Geyer in the contract role of Tristan Roberts.
Meanwhile, both Steve Burton (Jason) and Finola Hughes (Anna) are back taping new scenes!
